GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under general supervision performs shift work at the Island Transportation Ticket Office(s). This is one of the Bald Head Island jobs that efficiently dispatches tram and driver resources to transport customers to their island destination. Effectively interacts with guests either in person, over the telephone or on-line providing timely and accurate information regarding transportation services, baggage handling and general island information. Sells ferry tickets and collects and accounts for ticket revenue throughout the shift. Performs other duties and responsibilities as directed. Cross-trains in the Reservations and Customer Service Center to ensure continuity of operations on all shifts and locations as needed.
Retail Sales Manager
Coastal Urge has a flagship store on Bald Head Island that is filled with a unique and premium selection of apparel, paddleboards and beach cruisers. The position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store and leading a team to achieve business goals through sales and customer service.
Located in South Carolina, Bald Head Island is accessible only by passenger ferry and is a private community with no cars. The area is famous for its beautiful beaches, golf courses, and tennis courts. Several celebrities have homes in the village, including former East Carolina University athletic director Terry Holland and former U.S. senator and presidential candidate John Edwards. The island has many restaurants and shopping options, as well as a wide variety of vacation rentals and real estate opportunities.
Luggage Handler/Dockperson

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB: Under general supervision welcomes customers at the ferry landing and assists them with their luggage. Performs basic janitorial duties in and around the dock office area, laundry room and bathhouse area. Loads and unloads luggage onto and from dollies and the ferry. Provides customer service, answers inquiries and advises customers about transportation issues. Monitors ferry landing and surrounding areas for safety, correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions to Shift Supervisor.
May fulfill the duties of a Ferry Mate when directed due to personnel shortages. Performs semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work on facility and vehicles as needed. Ensures information brochures are properly stocked and displayed.

Tram Operator
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB: Under general supervision, operates tram to transport authorized customers between the Bald Head Island (BHI) ferry landing and Contractor Service Village, as well as various BHI Limited employee outlets. Operates tram according to current approved tariff in coordination with ferry arrivals and departures, observing customer service standards. Communicates with dispatching personnel and other Transportation team members in coordinating ongoing Transportation operations. Maintains shift cash bank, records tram reservations numbers, tags items for lost and found, and completes various reports accounting for daily, weekly, monthly passenger volume. Reports to the Assistant Transportation Manager.
The Coastal Urge location on the Island is filled with a premium selection of apparel, paddleboards and beach cruisers. Located next to the ferry, this store is the most visible face of Coastal Urge on BHI and is instrumental in building brand awareness as a premier destination for island visitors. The position also includes management of a small retail sales team. This is a full-time, salary-based role that provides the opportunity to develop your career and become an integral part of the island community.
Island Transportation Operator
Under general supervision performs shift work in the Island Transportation Ticket Office. Efficiently dispatches tram and driver resources to accommodate ground transportation needs of authorized customers from the island ferry landing to their destination on the Island. Analyzes reservation lists on a ferry by ferry basis to maximize efficiency of personnel and assets. Effectively interacts directly with customers providing baggage handling and customer service information and general Island information. Sells ferry tickets to authorized customers in accordance with approved tariff. Compiles and prepares various reports pertaining to passenger ridership.
