It is located in the beautiful fishing village of Taqah (in the region of Dhofar) and the comparatively newly built Taqah castle is an architectural gem.  The castle looks gorgeous with its surrounding pristine white-sand beaches. It was built in the 19th century and is now known to be one of the best fort museums in Oman.

The Taqah Castle is different because it used to be a private residence for the tribal leader Sheikh Ali bin Taman Al Ma’shani (grandfather of the mother of Sultan Qaboos). Here you can explore things that Castle houses like posh interiors, bewitching antiques, magnificent exhibition-level artworks, and crafts that show the Omani culture.

5) Marneef Cave, Salalah

Marneef Cave is located in the Shatti Al Mughsayl area, which is about 40 km away from Salalah in the Governorate of Dhofar, Al Marneef Cave is ranked in the list of top 10 most popular tourist attractions in the Indian Ocean. It doesn’t qualify as a cave because it does not have any opening space.

6) Anti-Gravity Point, Salalah

It is a mysterious place located on the route between Mirbat and Salalah. Why we call it a mysterious place because it is an anti-gravity point. You take a test by trying this- put your car in Neutral gear and you see after some time your car will start moving uphill at a speed up to 35 km/hr. this experience a lot of scientific explanations for this; the most common thing is that this is an Anti-Gravity Hill.

It is a fun spot to visit for mystery. If you are visiting during the Khareef Season, drive carefully as the road may become slippery. The weather in this place stands between 28-32 degrees Celcius.

7) Sumhuram Archaeological Park, Salalah

Sumhuram Archaeological Park is located 25 miles away from east of Salalah on a hilltop that overlooks the beautiful freshwater creek of Khor Rori. Lying in one of the marvelous bays of Dhofar. It is one of the chief trading ports of frankincense, Khor Rori (almost 2000 years ago) which is now the Sumhuram archaeological park. This site is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
