What are LED Strip Lights?
LED strip lights are flexible circuit boards populated with light emitting diodes (LEDs) that you can stick almost anywhere. These thin, flexible circuit boards can be bent up to 90 degrees and easily attach using adhesive backing. Plus, they give you complete design freedom as you can even cut the strips every few inches if needed. LED strip lights are also very affordable, usually costing less than $20. They are perfect for accent lighting behind TVs, along walls or ceilings, and above or under cabinets.
How to Conceal LED Strip Lights with Moulding
To conceal the LED strip lights, you'll need a LED strip lighting kit, cove moulding, scissors, a miter saw, a stud finder, and a brad nailer. Start by giving the walls and ceiling a fresh coat of paint. For a dramatic feel, you can choose a moody color like black and bring it down onto the wall. This will be the level where you'll install the cove moulding. Locate the studs in the wall using a stud finder and mark their positions with painters tape. Measure each wall and cut the cove moulding at a 45° angle using a miter saw. Dry fit the moulding and attach it to the wall with a brad nailer, making sure to hit the studs. Caulk, putty, and paint the moulding to give it a finished look.

How to Install LED Strip Lights
After the paint has cured, it's time to install the LED strip lights. Determine where you'll plug them in and hide the cord. Attach the strip lights to the wall, following the edge of the moulding. Peel back the adhesive strip covering and press the lights lightly to the wall. You can reposition them if needed. Once you're satisfied with the placement, press and seal them to the wall. To wrap the lights around corners, fold the strip and continue along the next wall. If necessary, cut the strip lights and adhere the final strip to the moulding.
