However, if you have American Airlines' cancellation policy allows you to cancel a flight for a full refund within 24 hours of booking if the ticket was purchased at least two days before departure. After 24 hours, the refund policy depends on the fare type. Non-refundable tickets are subject to a fee and may only be eligible for credit toward future travel.
